What we collect
Your account details (name, email, password stored as a secure hash), your activity on the platform (films watched, unlocked, saved, reviewed, creators followed), and purchase records. Payments are processed by Stripe — MoonMac Studio never sees or stores your card number. Filmmaker payout details are handled by Stripe Connect.
How we use it
To run the platform: unlocking films you've paid for, paying the right filmmakers for the watches they earn, recommending films, preventing fraud, and improving MoonMac Studio. We do not sell your personal data. Watch data is shared with filmmakers only in aggregate (views, unlocks, earnings) — never your identity.
What's public
Your name and profile note appear on reviews you post. Creator profiles (photo, bio, filmography, follower count) are public. Your watch history, wallet, and email are private.
Cookies
Two kinds, and only two. An essential cookie keeps you signed in — the site cannot work without it and it needs no permission. A second cookie records your advertising choice, so we only have to ask once.
We set nothing else today: no analytics, no advertising pixels, no third-party scripts of any kind.
Advertising
We are building a way to watch without paying, where an advertiser covers the cost and the filmmaker is still paid. That means working with an advertising network, and it means being straight about what that involves before it starts.
When it does, a network — Google AdMob, AppLovin or similar — may receive your device’s advertising identifier, general location from your IP address, and which adverts you saw and finished. That is how a reward is credited and how the advertiser is billed. They do not receive your name, your email, or what you have watched or bought here.
In the UK, the EEA and Switzerland none of that happens unless you agree first. You are asked once, plainly, and refusing costs you nothing — every part of the site keeps working, and the choice can be changed whenever you like by clearing cookies. Where local law does not require prior consent, you can still opt out of personalised advertising in your device settings.
Rewarded adverts are never shown to anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. Advertising is not personalised for anyone we know to be a child.
Who else sees your data
Only the services that make this work, each for one job: Stripe for payments and payouts, Bunny for video hosting and delivery, Resend for email, Neon and Vercel for the database and the site itself, and an advertising network once one is live. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing.
Your rights
You can update your profile anytime in settings, and request a copy or deletion of your data by contacting us. Deleting your account removes your personal information; anonymized purchase records are kept where the law requires.
